Clarification on President Role and Upcoming AGM

Dear Members,

I hope you’re doing well.

As we approach the upcoming AGM on May 23, I would like to briefly clarify the current President vacancy and how it will be handled.

As Vice-President, I have been serving as Acting President in accordance with Section 6.3.2(c) of our bylaws, which allows the Vice-President to assume the President’s role in the event of a vacancy. This provision also states that the Vice-President serves for the balance of the President’s term; however, this authority is tied to holding the Vice-President position.

As my term as Vice-President concludes at the AGM, this authority does not automatically continue beyond that time. In accordance with Section 6.5.5, the Board may either appoint an interim President or proceed with filling the position through election.

In keeping with good governance practice, the President position will be addressed at the AGM. Members will have the opportunity to elect a President at that time.

Four positions will be open for election: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Director.

I would also like to encourage members to get involved. Please consider participating in the election process, including volunteering for the election committee and nominating yourself for available positions. We have important and responsible work ahead of us, and your participation is essential.

For all members, please try to attend the AGM. You will receive updated information from the Town of Georgina regarding plans for our beach and shoreline.

I wanted to ensure transparency and clarity for all members as we approach the AGM.

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,Natasha Lebedeva

Vice-President / Acting PresidentSpringwood Beach Association
