Happy August!

As we step into the second half of summer, we’re already hearing comments about how quickly Autumn seems to be approaching. Let’s enjoy the next few weeks to create wonderful memories on the beach with family and friends.

 Our recent survey received a great response. Thank you to the 41 members (42%!) who responded. 

Here’s what you told us:

• Gate Locking: 35 votes(yes) | 4 votes(no)| 2 votes(other )→ A locking system will be installed with the entrance repair. We will keep you posted on the subject. 

• Traffic on Lakedrive: 35 votes (happy) | 4 votes (not happy)| 2 votes( other) → Thank you for sharing your feedback! This will be very useful if the Township asks us to evaluate the ongoing pilot project.

Your comments show a clear preference to preserve the picturesque character of our installation, maximize beach space, and keep the entrance where it is. This is exactly what we’ll do: keep the beach charming and spacious with the entrance at its current location. Access will be reorganized with parallel stairs and a ramp the same width as the dock.  

What’s next?

Repairs could begin as early as this week. We’ll soon call for volunteers, with the first planning meeting this Tuesday, August 5th, at 7 pm on the beach.

In the meantime, thanks to the generosity of one of our members, a temporary staircase will be installed a bit farther west. This will allow continued safe access to the beach and dock during the work.

Finally, a quick note about membership: We are now 99 members! This means we don’t all know each other as well as we used to. Until the gate is locked and the beach is member-only access, please be understanding if someone asks whether you are a member. This can happen to both new and long-time members.

We are lucky to have such a beautiful place, one that others envy, and it’s important to remain vigilant and kindly check the membership of those we might not recognize.
